Cosmetic Dentistry Birmingham

Chatha Smiles dental practice is located in Birmingham city centre (5 mins from New Street Station) and our speciality is Cosmetic Dentistry.  In many cases, simple straightening and realignment of teeth is all that's necessary to make a major change to the look and bite performance of a person's teeth.  Almost all teeth can be repositioned in the gums by braces but, depending upon the degree of movement required, we will recommend the most suitable type for any treatment.  For a 'presenter type smile' a person may need veneers to lift their teeth to a level of outstanding appearance of health and attractiveness.  Book a free appointment and we'll be happy to discuss any cosmetic dental services (minor or major) that interest you.

What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic Dentistry is a range of dental treatments such as Braces, Veneers, Crowns, Implants and Bridges and each of these treatments can form part of a 'smile makeover' (sometimes referred to as, 'smile cosmetic dentistry').  We are happy to undertake any cosmetic dental procedure, whether this be a minor treatment or full makeover, so if there's something about your teeth your are unhappy with, please do make an appointment and let's discuss potential treatments.

So what would be involved in a typical 'smile makeover'?  Everyone's teeth are different so depending upon the current condition of your teeth, our custom makeover plan may include:

  • Repairs to damaged teeth; perhaps fillings, implants or crowns
  • Braces to align and straighten teeth
  • Porcelain veneers (such as emax veneers) that will cover your existing teeth to reshape them, fill in any gaps or cracks
  • Teeth whitening to remove any stains and generally brighten the look of all teeth

As our Chatha Smiles name implies, our dental practice specialises in improving patient smiles but you do not have to go for a full makeover to achieve stunning results.  In many cases, braces treatment alone can produce a remarkable transformation to a smile.  If teeth misalignment is not too great then we may offer a course of invisible brace trays which are removable by the wearer for meals, or cleaning.  These trays are custom moulded and used in sequence over time to gradually reposition teeth, little by little to the ideal position.  This type of brace is non-intrusive and most people who use these trays find this type of treatment a fairly easy way to get their teeth straightened.  Teeth that are properly aligned not only help you to chew food better but, because your teeth look more attractive 'smile inhibitions' tend to fade away;  following treatment a person may well find themselves smiling more often!

Smile Makeovers

Cosmetic dental treatments are applicable over a very wide age range, from teenagers to adults that typically fall in the 20-60 age group.   Whilst a lot of people suffer mis-aligned teeth for many years perhaps because they have busy lives or other priorities, an impending marriage, new job, or the desire for a lifestyle change can often trigger the motivation to seek smile improvement.  You should know that smile makeover's are not instantly achievable they take planning and, in the case of braces, time for the teeth to move (which can be several months).  Veneers and crowns are custom made to exactly fit the shape of your teeth and as such these have to be specially fabricated.  Some cosmetic treatments will take several visits over the course of a few months, so if you are considering a makeover for a special event, make sure you allow enough time for your treatment plan.
